On March 9, the Harris Theater for Music and Dance feted its founder, Joan W. Harris, in honor of her 80th birthday. After a performance at the theater, which drew some 1,200 patrons and starred soprano Renée Fleming and violinist Pinchas Zukerman, 200 guests headed to the the Pritzker Pavilion for an intimate onstage birthday dinner that doubled as a fund-raiser for the theater's programs.

At $2,500 a head, the three-course, Blue Plate-catered dinner dinner took place amid decor from Heffernan Morgan Ronsley. Led by Bill Heffernan, the design team created an all-white scheme that employed towering cherry-blossom branches and flickering votive candles. BBJ provided shantung linens and hemstitch napkins, and Hall's brought in fruitwood Versailles chairs with white seats.
