Restaurants and Institutions magazine has ranked Tavern on the Green as the highest-grossing restaurant in the country, with $32 million in sales last year. The LeRoy family flagship had battled with David Emil's Windows on the World for the coveted top ranking in previous years, until Windows was destroyed in the World Trade Center attack. Sparks Steak House ranked fifth among the top ten, followed by the 21 Club in sixth and the Four Seasons Restaurant in seventh. Other top tourist favorite the Russian Tea Room was knocked from tenth place last year to 17th place this year.
