VENUE: Midtown Gets a Jimmy's

June 24, 2002, 12:00 AM EDT

The third and southernmost installment in Jimmy Rodriguez's restaurant empire—his other two restaurants are in Harlem and the Bronx—is his swank Midtown outpost Jimmy's Downtown, where the suave, superfriendly impresario is serving up tasty Latin cuisine in a modern atmosphere. Designed by architect Ilan Waisbrod, the space has a red and white color scheme, with a 100-foot bar and low booths and cube seats in the lounge. The dining room's white walls and floor are accented with red banquettes and columns. The dining room seats 90, and the bar area can accommodate 70. —Suzanne Ito (Photo by Bruce Katz)
