1. THOUSANDS GATHER FOR FIRST PUBLIC SEMA SHOW EVENT: For the first time, planners of the annual Specialty Equipment Market Association trade show acknowledged such intense public interest that it closed with a new public event to show off vehicles such as a 3-D-printed car and a vintage Batmobile. More than 20,000 people registered to attend the event in Las Vegas. The New York Times: “The event began Friday afternoon, after the show closed its run here, with the SEMA Cruise, a parade of hundreds of customized and one-of-a-kind vehicles from the trade show. The cruise has been an attraction of previous SEMA shows, offering the public a chance to see some of the cars that were behind the closed doors of the convention center. The cruise route ran a little more than two miles down Paradise Road from the convention center to the city’s new dining, shopping and entertainment complex, the Linq, where the cars assembled for the SEMA Ignited gathering.” http://nyti.ms/1Ekokhh
