Construction will begin on the St. Regis Resort & Residences, Bal Harbour, after the 50-year-old Sheraton Bal Harbour Beach Resort is closed and razed this spring. St. Regis Hotels and Resorts' new oceanfront development, planned as a five-star property, will consist of three 26-story towers. It will feature 36 spacious, one-bedroom hotel condominiums—all with a den, two baths, and north and south views of the Atlantic. Rounding out the 555-unit total will be 300 condominium residences and 219 traditional hotel rooms. Additional features will include an on-site restaurant, private lobby entrances, landscaped gardens, three pools, nine beachfront cabanas, and valet parking. Prices start at $1.8 million, and construction is scheduled to end by early 2010. The sales office is at 9701 Collins Avenue in Bal Harbour.
