White draping, crystalline beads, palms, and a disco ball decorated the truss structure at Aqua, the annual outdoor concert and water party hosted by Prism and Pride Toronto. Produced by Gairy Brown, executive director of Prism, the concert took place July 2 at the TD Stage in a parking lot on Yonge and Wellesley, as part of Pride’s weekend celebrations. With the warm, humid weather, the 2,500 guests were privy to a foam machine, shower area, and a hot tub filled with cold water, as well as a 40-by-60-foot dance floor.
Sponsors like Barefoot Wine and UV Vodka served drinks from tents that lined the lot. Bud Light and Bud Light Lime sponsored the umbrella-shaded V.I.P. area. DJs Micky Friedmann, Dave & Gerardo, and Mike Vieira spun for the crowd. Boy band Kazaky performed on the stage.
