CANADA: Holiday Pop-Ups, the Fraser Valley Literary Festival, World Cup Events, and More

BRAMPTON, ONTARIO: Brampton's annual Winter Lights Festival will return as a free drive-thru experience at Gage Park from Nov. 20-22. Highlights will include a 10-minute illuminated installation trail plus a Christmas market. Attendees must book time slots in advance and wear masks when visiting the market.

CALGARY: The freestyle ski moguls and aerials World Cup events have been relocated to Calgary's Canada Olympic Park, which had already been slated to host World Cup moguls in January 2021. The events had previously been slated to take place in Quebec, but officials were worried about the logistics of keeping athletes separated from the public.

EDMONTON: GLOW Edmonton will begin Nov. 18 and run until Jan. 3 at the Edmonton EXPO Centre. Billed as the city's largest indoor holiday celebration, the event will feature interactive light displays, live music, and food and beverage options. Tickets can be purchased for $22.99.

TORONTO: The Crokicurl rink—an annual pop-up that combines crokinole and curling—will return from Nov. 20 to Jan 3. It will be part of the Stackt Marketing Holiday Hills event, which features live music, a tree farm, seasonal workshops, and other festivities. Tickets for the socially distanced market start at $71.86.

VANCOUVER: The third annual Fraser Valley Literary Festival takes place virtually from Nov. 20-21. The event will spotlight 13 Canadian writers including Amanda Leduc, David A Robertson, and Andrea Warner, using a mix of prerecorded sessions as well as live webinars. Festival admission is free to the public.
