US: Lightscape Returns to the Chicago Botanic Gardens, The New York Comedy Festival is Underway, The Henri's Partnership with Woodford Reserve, and More

GLOBAL: Global creative collective Thinkingbox has recently announced that its managing director Corey Hankey has been promoted to managing partner. Hankey originally joined Thinkingbox in 2008 as a flash developer before climbing the ladder to become executive producer and, most recently, managing director at the Salt Lake City office. As managing director, he oversaw some of Thinkingbox’s largest clients, including Adobe, Intuit, Riot Games, and Zillow; and in the new role, Hankey will aim to grow the business through acquiring new clients, ensuring agency integration, managing client relations, building an internal company culture, and more.

CHICAGO: This year, Chicago Botanic Garden’s popular Lightscape event will return for its fourth season. The annual Lightscape debuted in 2019, featuring an immersive, after-hours trail of twinkling lights adorning landscaped gardens. It was designed in partnership with renowned local and international artists and this year, guests can look forward to seeing 2021 fan-favorites on the 1.25-mile trail, including a tunnel made of 100,000 shimmering lights, a fire garden, the “Forest of Illumination,” and a winter cathedral. Lightscape opens on Nov. 11 and will run through Jan. 8, 2023.

LOS ANGELES: Vulture Festival is a two-day extravaganza that aims to highlight the best in TV, film, music, and more. This year, attendees can expect reunions, special screenings, panels, stand-up comedy specials, and even acting classes from some of the biggest names in pop culture. Highlights include a conversation with Jamie Lee Curtis, an exclusive sneak peek at Hulu’s Welcome to Chippendales, an analysis of Kali Uchis’ music featuring the singer herself, and a game show where Grey’s Anatomy stars will test their medical knowledge. Guests over 21 can take a break from the excitement at Bulleit’s Garden Bar, and guests of all ages can check out the Limitless Lounge, presented by Disney+, for head-to-head rowing races, a mini-massage, and protein smoothies.The Vulture Festival will take place on Nov. 12-13 at The Hollywood Roosevelt.

NEW YORK: The New York Comedy Festival (NYCF) has returned to the Big Apple for its 18th year, running now through Nov. 13. Originally launched in 2004, the NYCF is produced by Carolines on Broadway and created by Caroline Hirsch and brings together more than 200 of the country’s top comedians in 100 shows across the five boroughs. Headliners this year include Bill Maher, Tracy Morgan, Conan O’Brien, John Mulaney, Wanda Sykes, Jimmy O. Yang, and many more. These world-renowned comedians will perform in 100-plus shows at prestigious venues across New York City, including the Beacon Theatre, Carolines on Broadway, Madison Square Garden, Town Hall, and the UBS Arena at Belmont Park. 

WASHINGTON, D.C.: European bistro The Henri in downtown D.C. has partnered with Woodfood Reserve for the restaurant's new private label Kentucky straight bourbon, which was fittingly named "The Henri." To celebrate the launch, the eatery's chef Frederik De Pue will host a special evening soiree where guests will be able to enjoy a complimentary bourbon cocktail featuring the “The Henri'' or Woodford Reserve Rye, as well as a variety of signature appetizers. Attendees will also be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a trio of The Henri’s private label Woodford Reserve bottles. The luxury dinner will be held Nov. 14, from 6-9 p.m. Tickets are $150 and proceeds from the evening will benefit No Kid Hungry.
