Canada: Toronto's Krampus Christmas Concert, a Drive-Along Holiday Lights Trail, Vancouver's Roaring '20s New Year's Eve Party, and More

MONTREAL: This spring, the Blue Metropolis International Literary Festival will celebrate 25 years with three renowned authors as spokespersons. The 25th anniversary festival will follow the theme of “the future,” with an emphasis on the futures of borders, democracy, literature, identities, and the planet. The three spokespersons include actor and writer Gabrielle Boulianne-Tremblay, author and journalist Monique Polak, and poet, translator, and editor David Bradford. Online events will be available prior to the live, in-person festival, which will take place from April 27-30, 2023.

TORONTO: For its 10th anniversary, alternative holiday party and concert KrampusBall will be held at The Opera House on Dec. 10. Paying homage to the ancient Yuletide tradition, the KrampusBall aims to welcome the Christmas season with a spooky twist. Attendees at the 19-and-over event are encouraged to celebrate their “creative weird” with costumes. Doors will be open from 10 p.m. Dec. 10 to 3 a.m. Dec. 11, and tickets range from $42-$54.

The Canadian Tire Christmas Trail returns this year for a celebration of Canadian Tire’s 100th birthday. The 30-minute drive-along experience, nearly a mile long, takes guests on an enchanted journey through thousands of twinkling lights, interactive displays, and live entertainment. Guests will be greeted by a team of elves, who will guide each vehicle through the trail and offer milk and cookies. Attendees will also have the opportunity to take an annual photo with Santa. The final ticket drop for the trail will be on Dec. 4, and tickets are $25 per vehicle.

VANCOUVER: The Gatsby's House 2023 New Year's Eve Party at Marriott Pinnacle Vancouver will ring in the new year with Roaring ‘20s flair. Attendees at this 19-and-over event are encouraged to dress in flapper costumes and zoot suits while dancing the night away to club mixes by two of Vancouver’s top DJs. All ticket holders will be treated to two prepaid alcoholic drinks, a two-hour appetizer buffet, and festive party favors. Guests can partake in casino games for the chance to win prizes like a free night in the Harbourview Room or tickets to next year’s New Year’s Eve party. VIP tickets include ultra premium drinks, upgraded appetizers and party favors, access to a VIP lounge with a private DJ, a private bar, and access to exclusive areas.

WINNIPEG: Fans of true crime podcasts or interactive theater are sure to enjoy “Murder on Tap,” a murder mystery and beer night hosted by Torque Brewing. At 7 p.m. on Jan. 13, 2023, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy Torque beer while helping detectives solve the mystery of the body discovered in master brewer Finnegan Kegwater’s fermentation tank. The $28 ticket also includes one 10-oz. beer.
