US: The Highly Anticipated Raffles Boston Appoints Leadership, New Year's Eve on a Luxury Yacht in NYC, the Capitals Winter at the Wharf Event, and More

BOSTON: Ultra-luxury hotel Raffles Hotels & Resorts—part of the Accor hospitality group—has appointed Simon Rodrigues as the director of sales and marketing of the soon-to-open Raffles Boston outpost. Rodrigues will work alongside general manager Oliver Dudler to oversee the property's sales and marketing initiatives. The highly anticipated Raffles Boston Back Bay Hotel & Residences is slated to open in May of 2023.

CHICAGO: The Marriott Theatre’s 2023 season will launch with the family friendly musical Big Fish—previewing on Jan. 25 and running Feb. 1-March 19, 2023. Big Fish is based on the film screenplay by John August and the novel by Daniel Wallace, telling the story of a relationship between a charming 60-year-old traveling salesman and his adult son, who is preparing to become a father himself. Performances will take place on Wednesdays at 1 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sundays at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.

NEW YORK: The Hornblower Infinity Yacht will offer a front-row seat to New York’s fireworks display with its scenic, 3.5-hour New Year’s Eve cruise on the New York Harbor. Featuring an open bar, buffet, VIP bottle service, and a midnight toast, guests are invited to ring in the new year in luxury on the yacht’s open-air deck. Guests must be at least 15 years of age, and the dress code is cocktail attire. Boarding will begin at 9 p.m., with a 10:30 p.m. departure, and 1:30 a.m. return to shore. Tickets are available online for $359.

WASHINGTON, D.C.: The Henri will host an exclusive New Year’s Eve dinner featuring a pre-fixe menu by chef Frederik De Pue. The multi-course menu—which will run attendees $135 per person—will be available for one night only on Dec. 31. The menu will include a variety of hors d'oeuvres, appetizers, entrees, and desserts for every taste, as well as a full bar. 

The Washington Capitals and The Wharf announced the Capitals Winter at the Wharf event, running now through Feb. 25, 2023. Three 12-foot-wide Capitals-themed igloos will be located outside of Cantina Bambina throughout the duration of the event. They will feature hockey net entrances and the team’s core logo for up to four guests to cozy up in. Additionally, The Wharf Ice Rink will feature Capitals rink panels and a themed ice resurfacer. The pro hockey team will also host two away-game viewing parties—on Jan. 11 and Feb. 11, 2023—that will feature a Jumbotron, giveaways, themed beverages, and a DJ.
