CANADA: Holiday Light Displays in Montreal, Plus New Year's Eve Celebrations in Toronto and Montreal, and More

EDMONTON: The Edmonton Christmas Market will be open for one more weekend this holiday season, with plans to close on Dec. 18. This seasonal festival features a local marketplace with more than 100 rotating vendors, live entertainment, light installations, rides, holiday activities, and more. Attendees can also enjoy festive beverages and a chef-driven menu.General admission tickets for this family-friendly event provide access to the Edmonton Christmas Market site, free entertainment, activities, and the vendor market. Food, rides, and experiences are also available on-site for an additional fee.

MONTREAL: Illumi Laval, presented by Cavalia, has returned to Montreal and is open now through Jan. 29, 2023 with new fantastical routes for guests of all ages to explore. This nocturnal adventure—accessible either on foot or by car—will feature thousands of structures made up of 25 million LED bulbs along a route that's nearly two miles long. Illumi will feature 19 different “universes” of light sculptures, with themes including Jurassic Kingdom, The Magical Forest, Multicolour Flight, and more—each with its own custom soundtrack for added immersion.

TORONTO: Liberty Entertainment Group’s Michelin-starred restaurant, Don Alfonso 1890 Toronto, is offering a New Year’s Eve tasting menu. A shorter menu featuring four courses plus wine pairings will be available for early seating, from 5-7 p.m., at $350 per person. The second seating, beginning at 8 p.m., will feature eight courses plus wine pairings, at $500 per person. Guests will also have the opportunity to stay and enjoy the fireworks at midnight.

As part of W Toronto's first-ever holiday programming, the hotel is offering a New Year’s Eve room package that includes a stay in a theater-inspired room or suite, a branded welcome amenity, and a breakfast for two. Also included are two tickets to the hotel’s NYE Living Room Party and 416 Night Market, which will feature live DJs, light installations, cocktails, and street-style food stations inspired by Toronto’s eclectic food scene.

VANCOUVER: Vancouver’s famous Parq Grand Ballroom will host a New Year’s Eve celebration on Dec. 31. The main ballroom will host three DJs, while the Lobby Lounge will feature '80s hits. Guests can also expect a red carpet and media wall presented by CityLux Boutique, an aerial silk and acrobatic countdown by Circus West, a balloon drop, and a midnight champagne toast. The dress code for this event is “chic and sassy” for women, with a mandatory gentleman jacket or suit for men. Along with entry, tickets include party favors, canapés, and access to a VIP afterparty until 4 a.m. at the on-site Ombre Lounge.
