OLD for SD26: Designed by Massimo Vignelli, SD26 has three floors and 14,000 square feet of space available, including the Wine Connoisseurs Room and the open Balcony Room. The rich, inviting colors and warm illuminated lighting, surrounded by artwork from renowned artist Sheila Hicks, creates an atmosphere for guests, both special and seductive, setting the scene for a tasting of contemporary flavors that are unmistakably Italian by executive chef Matteo Bergamini. SD26 Events, under the direction of James Stewart & Shivann Schonland, provides exceptional catering both on and off premise. OLD: Owners Tony and Marisa May closed their Central Park South restaurant San Domenico in 2008, and opened a new place at Madison Square Park. The 350-seat Italian restaurant, which more than doubles the space at the old venue, debuted in September 2009 and includes a 100-seat private dining room and a 75-seat lounge.
