BizBash inducted five event-industry icons into its Southern California Hall of Fame and recognized two risings stars in the industry on March 16. The ceremony was held at the 1220 Event Space at Universal Studios Lot and was executive produced by Blueprint Studios. Guests experienced a beautifully and cohesively designed event centered around a “salty or sweet” theme, and dined on delicious bites by executive caterer Wolfgang Puck Catering.
With special activations including a “lip bar,” where guests could have salty or sweet lip treatments applied by celebrity makeup artist Helena Tamargo, as well as separate salty and sweet lounges, guests were immersed in a fun and tasty environment all night long. During an interview-style presentation, the honorees spoke about their inspirations, mentors, and commitment to live events.
The 2017 Southern California Hall of Fame honorees were Cheryl Cecchetto of Sequoia Productions; Steve Goodling of the Long Beach Area Convention & Visitors Bureau; Edward Perotti of VMware; Sharon Sacks of Sacks Productions; and the Los Angeles Times Events Team, represented by Scott Dallavo and Hillary Manning. The first-ever rising stars were Caroline Lett of the University of Southern California and Justin Tribe of In-N-Out Burger. Honorees were chosen by the BizBash executive committee for their work, accomplishments, and contributions to the industry, and join a distinguished group of industry professionals.
BizBash extends a special thank-you to all of the evening’s sponsors and to the more than 200 guests in attendance, all of whom continually inspire the industry to create better events.
BizBash returns to Los Angeles on Wednesday, July 19, for BizBash Live at the California Market Center.
