US: German-Inspired Christmas Market Returns to Chicago, Legacy Club Offers New Year’s Celebrations, Museum at FIT's Alumni Celebration, and More

BOSTON: In honor of National Play Monopoly Day on Nov. 19, Cambridge’s Kimpton Marlowe Hotel is offering a "Game Night" package for guests to enjoy the iconic board game in its newly renovated guest rooms. The package includes an overnight stay in the hotel, a Cambridge edition of Monopoly highlighting the city’s landmarks and historic sites, “Free Parking” for one car, and top hats filled with snacks to enjoy while playing the game. The Game Night package starts at $299 per room, per night and is available through Dec. 30.

CHICAGO: Chicago’s iconic German-inspired Christkindlmarket will return to Daley Plaza for a month of festive celebrations and shopping from Nov. 18-Dec. 24. Those attending will be able to browse stalls stocked with handmade gifts and ornaments and enjoy German food and beverages—including glühwein, a mulled wine imported directly from Germany and served in a boot-shaped mug. Live music, dance performances, and exclusive pop-ups will also be offered. The Christkindlmarket will be open from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays, and 11 a.m.-9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

LAS VEGAS: To ring in 2023, the Legacy Club at Circa Resort & Casino will host a “Light Up the Night” celebration on New Year’s Eve. From 60 stories above the street, guests will be able to enjoy a panoramic view of the city’s fireworks while enjoying hors d’oeuvres, specialty cocktails, live music, and seating at a fire pit at the Legacy Club’s outdoor terrace. The event will begin at 10 p.m. on Dec. 31 with general admission tickets starting at $375. Premium packages include luxury seating options, open bar access, a designated server for a curated New Year’s Eve menu, bottle service, and a midnight champagne toast. 

NEW YORK: NoMo SoHo has announced an expansion to its culinary team with the appointments of Iwona Luksza as director of food and beverage and Evan Bergman as executive chef. Luksza comes to NoMo SoHo with over 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Prior to her current role, she served as director of bars and restaurants at the Arizona Biltmore, a Waldorf Astoria Resort. Meanwhile, Bergman offers NoMo SoHo over a decade of experience in both classical and modern culinary techniques. Prior to this role, he served as the executive sous chef at the Pine Hollow Club. Both Luksza and Bergman will collaborate to elevate the property’s culinary offerings at NoMo Kitchen, the Rose Garden, and the Library Cafe. The pair will also oversee the catering and events department. 

The Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) will host an alumni art show from Nov. 16-Jan. 29, 2023. Dean for the School of Art and Design Troy Richards and assistant manager of alumni relations at the FIT Foundation Kseniya Baranova have collaborated to co-curate an exhibition featuring a wide array of media from a select group of FIT alumni. Media featured in the exhibition includes photography, fashion, video, weaving, wallpaper, graphic design, and painting. Suzanne Tick, creative director of Luum Textiles, will have her Grandma's Pearls, Matter, Refuse DC, and Woven Neon in 5 Strands on display.
