Commuters and tourists in London might have experienced a bit of confusion when they came across a set of very unusual-looking twins on Monday. The masked children—who showed up at the Finsbury Park tube station, Hamley's Toy Store, and Buckingham Palace—were actually part of a stunt to promote director Tim Burton's fantasy film Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, which opens in North American cinemas on Friday.

The stunt, which was staged by 20th Century Fox and marketing and PR agency Premier, had two 6-year-old actors wearing costumes and posing as characters from the film. Passersby were given unusual photo ops, as the twins participated in activities such as fighting over a teddy bear, playing a Victorian-style kickabout game, and snapping pictures with a selfie stick. The film Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, which is based on the 2011 novel of the same name, stars Eva Green, Asa Butterfield, Judi Dench, and Samuel L. Jackson.
