Watch 50,000 Dominoes Fall in Fashion Show Stunt

Anya Hindmarch, an English accessories designer, has said that her latest collection was inspired by games. So what better way to showcase the bags than in a sea of colorful, cascading dominoes? The designer did just that for her presentation at London Fashion Week in February, and the whimsical stunt made audience members giddy.

To pull it off, Hindmarch partnered with set designer Rachel Thomas and world champion domino expert Robin Weijers. The team employed eight domino builders to hand-lay 50,000 colored game pieces in five days, and the set was born.

When the show began, dominoes cascaded down a staircase and landed on the graphic set. Throughout the presentation, 35 mousetraps helped the colorful pieces travel in circles around Hindmarch's accessories, which rose up on cylindrical columns. Pyramids collapsed to unveil bags, and cylindrical towers toppled down to reveal accessories on rotating drums. There were no rehearsals for the intricate show, so the team had just one chance to get it right. Watch the video to see how it happened.
