The American Pavilion at the Cannes Film Festival celebrated its 25th anniversary—and its green heritage—in May. According to founder Julie Sisk, the pavilion was the first entity at Cannes to implement recycling, and this year, organizers partnered with SodaStream to create a plastic-bottle-free environment. OK, so there were some plastic bottles, but they were reclaimed and used to decorate an on-site bar.

At the SodaStream SodaBar, guests received complimentary drinks made using SodaStream's technology, which turns tap or filtered water into carbonated drinks. The refreshments were served in biodegradable cups or in reusable, BPA-free bottles that guests could keep and have refilled.

The SodaStream activation fit in with the pavilion's new look, which was inspired by first-time presenting sponsor the Peninsula Hotel Group. Designed by Glow Studio in conjunction with the American Pavilion, the tent had a cabana-like vibe with a blue-and-sea-green color pallet and teak furniture.
