About Events with Esprit de Coeur
Esprit de Coeur is nestled in what has been known as the Mouton House, in the heart of downtown Lafayette. The Mouton's were known to be one of the more prominent families in Lafayette holding influential positions through the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. The sprawling Lafayette Historic Property was built for in a craftsman style in 1890. During the Great Depression the Mouton House became one of Lafayette's first boarding houses/bed and breakfast. The home served employees of the railroad as well as travelers passing through providing a financial aid in relief for the family. The house is probably most well known as the Mouton Bed and Breakfast or Masion de Mouton.
