In 2009 Agnes and Vikram Singh left their corporate jobs to focus on their passion: bringing India's culinary delights to Chicago. Kama Bistro is named after the Indian cupid, the god of love and passion, symbolizing the aesthetic pleasure of the senses. Indulge your senses and experience the passion Kama brings to its food and service. Kama's food is deeply rooted in traditional Indian recipes and culinary techniques perfected by Vikram's father, a star chef in India. Yet it presents a modern & progressive approach – redefining and pushing the boundaries of Indian food by combining it with French, American and Latin influences. The most celebrated Indian cooking elements are used – charcoal tandoori grilling, braising, pickling & pressure cooking along with modern techniques such as roux, demi glaze and sous vide. Sauces are made with fresh ingredients, house made stocks and fresh ground spices. Bread is made to order, chutneys made from fresh organic ingredients. Unique crossover dishes such Kama Lobster bisque, tandoori black pepper Chilean Seabass, curried lamb tacos, Tamarind BBQ baby back ribs with 16 spice rub, charcoal grilled USDA prime ribeye are Kama specialties. Kama's food is progressive, bold and deeply flavorful.
