Van Vliet & Trap's table was hemmed in by four massive white pedestals topped with displays of white dogwood blossom branches and strands of sparkling crystals. The look mixed modern and Renaissance touches and included candelabra painted in metallic white, as well as accents of clear modern glass objects and metallic white fruit.

Horticultural Tables Show New Takes on Tradition
At the Horticultural Society of New York's annual benefit, Susan Edgar put boxwood hedges under a glass-topped table decorated with green napkins wrapped with preppy-colored ribbons, mirrored spheres and boxes, cube-shaped orange candles, and boxy glass vases filled with stones, limes, and pale green orchids. The hedges probably didn't make for comfortable seating for women in dresses, but the odd mix of influences and materials made it one of our favorite designs of the night.

Designers Go Avant Garde for Horticultural Benefit
For the Horticultural Society of New York's benefit at Cipriani 42nd Street, Studio Sweet Pea worked with Carlton Finneral Mahoney Design on a 'Giving Tree' centerpiece, which featured curving branches covered with a warm array of roses, peonies, calla lilies and other blooms, and a swing suspended from white ribbon hung from one of the arms.
