In April, Starlight Children’s Foundation Canada held its 23rd annual gala inside the ballroom at Toronto’s Fairmont Royal York Hotel. The event, which featured the theme of “Fly Me to the Moon,” was decorated with starry decor and included activities such as a flavored oxygen bar, an outer space-theme photo booth, and a silent auction.

MAC Cosmetics partnered with the makeup artist from Netflix’s Glow to host two masterclasses, May 14 at Highline Stages in New York and May 17 at Goya Studios in Los Angeles. Stoelt Productions built two separate life-size hot pink and black boxing rings for the events. The rings were inspired by the premise of the series, which is about actresses in the 1980s who are cast in a TV series about a women’s professional wrestling team.

Tasked with realizing Marc Jacobs’s vision of “Victorian surf,” longtime set designer Stefan Beckman devised an abstract beach at the 69th Regiment Armory on September 10 that melded visual cues ranging from the Paul McCartney show at the Park Avenue Armory to Burning Man in Nevada to the notion of artifice. Fully immersing the audience into the runway—a series of six concentric circular islands were built so editors would feel “washed up”—the weeklong load in marked the first time Jacobs had utilized all 25,000 square feet of the venue for a show.
