Boho-ish Swedish clothing brand Odd Molly feted the opening of its North American headquarters in Los Angeles and debuted its spring/summer 2008 collection with a party and fashion show on August 12 at the Mondrian hotel's Skybar. But rather than settle for a ho-hum poolside event, organizers put the models right on the water, with a catwalk built over the property's chic pool. Lily Pad brought in a total of 2,008 lavender and white roses to surround the catwalk in honor of the year of the collection.
Odd Molly's Per Holknekt worked with Stephanie Bonn and her team at Swedish event production company Zap Events to put together the long-distance event; Zap sent over eight staffers from Stockholm.Actress and activist Daryl Hannah introduced the show, and praised the brand for its use of organic and sustainable materials and practices. Swedish jazz musician Viktoria Tolstoy sang alongside a white piano downstairs near the pool, and upstairs in the lounge, DJ Rashida (Prince's New York-based traveling DJ) spun for a thick crowd.
