On April 4, the National Italian American Foundation celebrated its fourth annual Ambassador's Ball award ceremony at the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood. Coordinated by NIAF and executed by the hotel, the event began with cocktails and an expansive silent auction.
Items were neatly arranged on long tables in the center of the cocktail area with palm trees lining the walls of the space. Cocktail tables were draped with white and pearl-colored linens and topped with a single dimly lit lamp.Inside the main ballroom, dining tables were topped with an array of colorful spring floral centerpieces accompanied by two votive candles, adding a warm touch to the ambience. For dinner, guests enjoyed a romaine wedge salad, followed by sliced tenderloin of beef served with a soft goat cheese polenta and asparagus, and rounded out with a trio of Italian desserts and gourmet coffee, all prepared by the hotel.
During the award ceremony, a video produced by NIAF highlighting the honorees' achievements was presented on two large screens at the front of the ballroom. Bob Corti of Manhattan Transfer was also on hand to film the ceremony as a memento from the event for the honorees. The evening wrapped up as guests were treated to a live performance by Italian singer and NIAF honoree Eros Ramazzotti.
