Whether you need to attract potential sponsors, create buzz on YouTube, or simply document an event, here are a few companies planners turn to for all forms of digital media.
For Melissa Maynard, editor in chief of Factio Magazine, video is an essential part of the lifestyle publicationโs various art and fashion events. โWe love having video shot at our events, because it lets our readers get an inside look at what happens at these private parties,โ Maynard says. In fact, Maynard and her publisher, Henrique Kerch, used to shoot events themselves to post on their Web site. But for the magazineโs recent Bowler Hat Art Party, Maynard turned to Fig Media. โEveryone at Fig is so talented,โ Maynard says. โEmily Hard was the lead on our party, and she was great at interviewing guests and getting an inside look at the goings-on.โ In addition to corporate, promotional, and event videography, Fig Media also provides DJ, photography, and design services. When custom publishing company Concierge Preferred decided to add advertiser-purchased videos to its Web site as a revenue builder, managing editor Jody Robbins looked to Shannon Aldridge of Slant Media. โWeโve used Slant Media to produce a few different video products for us,โ Robbins says. โTheyโve done a lot with a little, and I know the projects can be quite a bit of work. But they definitely grab [your] attention when executed correctly.โ Slant Media also created marketing videos for Concierge Preferred to share with business partners. In addition, the company provides staging, lighting, and audiovisual production.
Sue Saltmarsh, executive assistant at the Test Positive Aware Network, an H.I.V. advocacy group, worked with budding filmmaker Tobin Del Cuore to create a documentary that served as a fund-raising tool for the agencyโs 20-year anniversary benefit. Del Cuoreโs film, which featured profiles of each of TPANโs staff members, was shown at the gala and put on DVDs for potential benefactors. โTobin and I were on the same page from start to finish,โ Saltmarsh says. โHe made everyone feel at ease and got great footage because of it.โ Del Cuore also provides editing work in addition to videography. His clients include Hubbard Street Dance, Cabrini Green Legal Aid, and the Chicago Yacht Club.
