Runners have marathons, programmers have hackathons, and now event and meeting professionals have the Plan-A-Thon. The brainstorming workshop that BizBash first introduced at its expo is expanding to more cities this year, and after a successful debut in Toronto, it's heading next to Chicago. The half-day program, scheduled for June 10 at the Navy Pier and sponsored by QuickMobile, will invite planners to work in groups to dream up new concepts and strategies for iconic events such as the American Cancer Society's Discovery Ball, the Lyric Opera of Chicago's Opera Ball, and Lollapalooza.

BizBash C.E.O. and founder David Adler will lead the discussion. Joining him as mentors is a team of industry professionals, including Groupon's senior manager of experiential marketing and events, Noelle Provencial; Audrey Gordon, owner of Audrey Gordon Parties; Anthony Navarro, founder of Liven It Up Events; and QuickMobile's manager of event marketing, Tahira Endean. After groups present their two-minute elevator pitch of ideas, the evening will conclude with cocktails and networking.

Space is limited, so register now. The full schedule, registration details, and other information can be found here.
