The main dining room at the historic Casa
del Mar hotel has transformed into Catch,
a contemporary beachside restaurant with
views of the surf, sand, and Santa Monica pier. Just off the popular
Verandah lobby bar, Catch
has dark-wood floors and table, woven leather furniture, and
sea-inspired
silver and blue accents. Sushi chefs work at the rectangular sushi and
crudo
bar in the center of the room. In the kitchen, chef Michael Reardon
has taken the
helm after working at Casa’s sister property in Santa Barbara, the Hotel
Andalucia, plus Le Bernadin and Napa’s Tra Vigne. The menu features
mostly seafood, but
also fresh seasonal salads and other hearty landlubber dishes. Catch
holds 82
for seated events.
