Forget the restaurants—these luxurious hotel lounges offer space for stylish, intimate gatherings. Here’s where to go for …
Wine, Cheese, And Chocolate
In May, the Fairmont Chicago debuted the city’s second outpost of Eno, the sleek wine, cheese, and chocolate chain. In the center of the redesigned lobby, 10-foot-tall oak cabinets display wine bottles and frame the space. The 52-seat bar can host private wine tastings for as many as 10 guests.
A Proper Cocktail
Clubby bar and lounge Potter’s opened in the historic Palmer House Hilton in April. The expansive bar is flanked by glass columns containing white feathers, and black-and-white portraits pay homage to Chicago icons Hugh Hefner, John Belushi, and Nat King Cole. The 120-seat space serves up cocktail classics like kir royales and Singapore slings and is available for full buyouts.
River Views
Open since February, Cityscape Bar anchors the southeast corner of the Holiday Inn Mart Plaza's 15th floor. Wrapped in floor-to-ceiling windows, the bar overlooks the river and offers a full range of cocktails. A fabric-enclosed corner offers private seating for 10, and the entire space can be rented for 100.
