Groupon hosted its annual summertime employee outing, the "All You Can Street Fest," on July 17 at the site of a soon-to-open street festival in Chicago. "Groupon's summer outing is just one way Groupon shows its appreciation for all the great talent in the Chicago offices," said Kelly Evans, senior manager of experiential marketing and events. "It's a chance for employees to come together and enjoy themselves outside of the office, and employees really look forward to it. We put the save the date out there almost two months in advance."
Getting access to the Sheffield Music Festival and Garden Festival a day before it opened to the public involved leveraging relationships with agencies and production companies. "It's been a win-win for all parties," Evans said. At the event, classic festival activities included visits with a psychic and games such as cornhole, while snacks included summertime classics such as corn on the cob with drawn butter, funnel cakes, and corn dogs. There were also decidedly less traditional activities, including a competition inspired by hamsters and a game called "human foosball." Here's a look inside the event for 1,200 guests.
