The Latin Builders Association held its annual presidential installation gala on Saturday night at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel for nearly 900 people. The organization marked a milestone at this year’s event: the first female president in its 38-year history.
Wow Factor Marketing Group designed the dinner gala using red decor with gold accents, soft lighting, and calla lily floral arrangements. “We were tying to make it very feminine since it’s the first woman president,” said Yoly Solano, director of strategic event development at Wow Factor.
Following an hour-long cocktail reception, guests made their way into the ballroom while the Black Eyed Peas song “I Got a Feeling” played in the background. Univision television anchor Alina Mayo-Azze served as the night’s M.C.
Three local judges swore in the association’s 2010 board of directors, executive directors, and new president, Noelia E. Moreno, while the hotel served dinner. Wow Factor then surprised guests with a special ballet and musical performance. Ballerinas dressed in white unitards and headpieces held four-foot balloons and pranced around the room before convening at the dance floor where two singers performed “The Prayer” by Italian singer Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion.
Next up was the Celia Cruz All Stars, who performed two 45-minute sets, with Cuban singer Albita taking the stage for an hour in between the band’s sets. The evening wrapped up around midnight.
