Lara Shriftman, partner of public relations and event agency Harrison and Shriftman, hosted her second annual Girl’s Party lunch and gifting event on Saturday at the One Bal Harbour Resort and Spa in Bal Harbour. Staged in the hotel’s penthouse overlooking the beach, the day of beauty, shopping, dining, and gifting catered to 60 local V.I.P.s and tastemakers.
“Miami doesn’t really have these kinds of events, and when I first started them in L.A. they were really popular, so I thought I would bring a bit of L.A. to Miami,” Shriftman said. “I wanted to create something special where I can share some of my favorite things with my friends and bring something that you can’t get locally.”
Shriftman contacted beauty, food, and shopping brands from Los Angeles, New York, and Miami to participate in activities set up throughout the penthouse. Gourmet gift basket company Harry & David provided treats like pears, nuts, and Moose Munch bars on the dining room table for snacking. Additionally, guests could design their own gift basket from a list of items and send it to someone else.
Los Angeles-based eyebrow shaper to the stars Anastasia provided complimentary services alongside makeup applications from professional artist Sue Devitt's team in the penthouse’s expansive bathroom. New this year, guests could also design a custom pair of Vans at a provided computer station.
For lunch, the hotel provided its version of Shriftman’s favorite chopped salad from La Scala restaurant in Beverly Hills along with passed mini sandwiches accompanied by the event’s signature cocktail, a Grey Goose fresh berry lemonade, or a nonalcoholic Arnold Palmer. For dessert, New York restaurant Serendipity 3 sent packages of its Frozen Hot Chocolate, which were prepared and served by the hotel and included in the gift bag.
