Four new hotel restaurants offer noteworthy chefs and private dining.
1. Scampo: This Italian eatery opened in the jail-themed Liberty Hotel in April 2008, with a menu by executive chef Lydia Shire (of Pignoli and Locke-Ober). The 90-seat restaurant sports iron bars on the windows and exposed brick throughout. Behind frosted glass doors, a private room holds 43.
2. Bokx109 American Prime: Open since January 2008, Hotel Indigo debuted this upscale comfort food spot in June 2008. Spaces include poolside cabanas, outdoor fire pits, and private rooms.
3. Aura: This Seaport Hotel restaurant and its Tamo bar finished a makeover in June 2008. New chef Rachel Klein serves a seasonal menu. Aura’s two private rooms seat 24 and 40. Tamo’s loft space holds 24.
4. 606 Congress: The Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel opened this restaurant in February 2008. The menu of seafood and seasonal produce is meant for sharing. A private space holds 22 and can be broken into two smaller rooms. The chef’s table—a sleek counter facing the kitchen—seats seven.
