A Sleek French Spot in the South End

Formerly the South End’s Penny Savings Bank and now a sleek French restaurant, Banq debuted in February 2008. Designed by architecture firm Office dA, undulating panels of blond wood cover the restaurant’s ceiling, giving the space a nightclub-like look. The menu, by chef Ranveer Brar, includes Thai, Indian, and French influences. The restaurant seats 140, while a semiprivate dining space with a bar seats 10.
