Here's a closer look at Boston's newest eateries, drinking spots, hotels, conference areas, private rooms and other spaces available for events this spring. The new and renovated Boston venues are available for corporate parties, weddings, fundraisers, outdoor functions, business dinners, team-building activities, conferences, meetings and more.
A note regarding COVID-19: Some of the venues listed here may not yet be available for hosting events due to the pandemic, or they may be operating at a lower capacity.
Cafe Landwer

An all-day Mediterranean “diner,” the 4,000-square-foot Cafe Landwer opened in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood in late January. Featuring a vintage-inspired bar area and adjoining dining room that carries over into the lobby of the adjacent Charlesmark Hotel, Cafe Landwer serves everything from hummus made fresh daily to sweets like Russian Babka or their signature dessert, Rozalach. A 1,500-square-foot private event space accommodates as many as 50 seated guests, or 70 to 80 people for a cocktail-style event.

Canopy by Hilton Downtown Boston

Boasting 1,722 square feet of event space, the 212-room boutique hotel located next to Boston’s Haymarket is the region’s first Canopy concept. The Canopy by Hilton Downtown Boston opened in March and features several meeting rooms, each with full AV capabilities. Options include the 1,496-square-foot Lounge space, which accommodates as many as 70 seated guests or 100 for a cocktail-style event, and the 1258-square-foot Blackstone-Greenway space, which welcomes 84 guests for a reception, or corporate meetings of 50 or less.

Four Seasons Hotel Boston

The former courtyard of the iconic Four Seasons Hotel Boston has been transformed into an urban oasis, perfect for intimate gatherings and romantic dinners. It opened to guests last summer, but became available for private events in 2022. The 2,445-square-foot space, which can accommodate 120 standing guests, is also accessible to those with disabilities via a new ADA ramp. It can be privatized for weddings, ceremonies, garden parties and other social catering events.

High Street Place Food Hall

This highly anticipated food hall opened its doors in downtown Boston in March. Featuring 20 vendors that include some of Boston’s most celebrated chefs, restaurateurs, brewmasters and cocktail experts, High Street Place Food Hall has something to everyone’s liking. Whether you're a group of 10 or 500, the 20,000-square-foot venue can accommodate everything from casual team-building events to fundraising galas. The space can host semi-private events for a minimum of 10 guests or as many as 55, as well as partial or full buyouts accommodating a maximum of 500 guests, all with custom food and beverage options. Added event enhancements for semi-private and private buyout bookings include everything from an oyster shucker and doughnut wall to a putting green and manned carving station. An on-site sound engineer or on-site AV specialist is also available for an extra cost.

Pelham House Resort

With 8,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, Cape Cod’s newest resort is sure to be a favorite. The Pelham House Resort is located in picturesque Dennis Port and has a variety of event spaces, including the 3,600-square-foot oceanfront Sea Level Ballroom, which accommodates 250 guests and has sliding glass walls that open onto Nantucket Sound. The smaller Nantucket Sound room, which measures 506 square feet, welcomes as many as 40 seated guests. There’s also 6,480 square feet of rolling lawn and 21,600 square feet of stunning beachfront overlooking the ocean. After reopening in August 2020, the Pelham House completed its full renovation this January. It has full AV capabilities.

Roadrunner

The largest indoor general admission venue in New England by The Bowery Presents, Roadrunner is a 50,000-square-foot multi-level concert venue that opened in March with a lineup of music’s hottest acts. Uniquely designed by studioTYAK, the venue features a main staircase inspired by a skateboarding ramp and connects to the upstairs lounge, where a 26-foot art installation of the Roadrunner sign made of street reflectors sits behind the bar. The entire venue can accommodate as many as 3,500 guests for standing events. The Guest Room, a 1,150-square-foot exclusive spot for VIP Experiences, hosts fans for pre-show drinks and lounging underneath neon art that reads, “I’m in love with Massachusetts.”

Bar Tonno

A new private event venue, Bar Tonno is located inside the popular Italian restaurant Tonno Wakefield. The 900-square-foot space, which opened in February, can accommodate as many as 42 seated guests at high-top tables, or 60 for a cocktail-style event. On non-private-event nights, the space opens up into the bar area, creating a natural extension of the restaurant. Bar Tonno has full AV capabilities.

Koji Club

Boston’s first sake bar, Koji Club, opened at Allston-Brighton’s new Charles River Speedway marketplace in February. Helmed by advanced sake professional Alyssa Mikiko DiPasquale, one of a handful of female sake professionals in the U.S., it’s a space to celebrate and learn about the beloved Japanese beverage. (There’s also a small food menu.) The 256-square-foot space, which is available for full buyouts, can host private events for as many as 16 guests. There is also a 250-square-foot covered patio complete with a disco ball.

Nash Bar & Stage

With a prime location in Boston’s Theater District, Nash Bar & Stage draws inspiration from Nashville’s lively music and food scene. The 225-seat bar, restaurant and performance venue opened in January, and is available for full and partial buyouts. Measuring 3,500 square feet on each of its two floors, Nash Bar is fully equipped with AV capabilities. The second floor, which has a full bar, overflow seating and performance space, can accommodate 160 seated guests, while the first-floor main dining room welcomes 125 seated. There’s also a 400-square-foot private dining room which can accommodate as many as 20 seated guests. The entire space can accommodate 335 standing or 225 seated.

The Friendly Toast

Kitsch and comfort are the focus at The Friendly Toast's newest location at The Shops at Chestnut Hill. The 4,000-square-foot restaurant, which opened in February, serves up comfort food in a fun environment filled with unique antiques and tchotchkes. Known for all-day breakfast and funky cocktail creations, The Friendly Toast also has a 250-square-foot semi-private dining space that accommodates 24 seated guests. A hidden curtain can be used to separate the space from the rest of the restaurant if desired, and it can be changed to feature a long table instead of individual smaller ones. The entire restaurant is available for full buyouts in the evenings.
