Here’s a closer look at Boston's newest eateries, drinking spots, hotels, conference areas, private rooms, and other spaces available for events this summer. The new and renovated Boston venues are available for corporate parties, weddings, fundraisers, outdoor functions, business dinners, team-building activities, conferences, meetings, and more.
Post 1917 Steakhouse

Combining classic steakhouse style with contemporary flair, Post 1917 Steakhouse opened in April. Tucked inside the historic Post Office Building, it features archways helmed by Italian cypress trees leading into the elegant dining room. There’s also a 40-seat bar boasting beautiful quartz countertops, and a spacious patio that comfortably hosts 50 people and features Reading’s only outdoor bar. A private dining room, which measures 840 square feet, can accommodate as many as 60 people for a seated dinner or cocktail-style event. While there are no AV capabilities, Post 1917 is willing to rent from an outside source.

F1 Arcade

Start your engines at F1 Arcade in Boston’s Seaport, the newest location of the official Formula 1 social entertainment venue. Measuring 15,500 square feet and accommodating 550 guests, F1 Arcade opened in April and is equipped with 69 racing simulators that bring the race experience to life. There’s also a 37-foot main bar and several private and semi-private event spaces available for events. The Briefing Room is a private space accommodating 150 guests with 15 racing simulators and a full private bar, as well as seating and dining space. F1 Arcade also has a state-of-the-art AV system. A second event space features nine racing simulators for groups of 30 to 50 people with stunning views of the Seaport neighborhood.

Citrus and Salt

Serving up Mexicali food from chef Jason Santos, Citrus and Salt relocated to Boston’s Fort Point neighborhood in March. Boasting vibes reminiscent of the Baja coast of California and Mexico circa the '70s, the colorful venue, which measures 3,900 square feet, is overflowing with Instagrammable nooks and pink flowers dangling from the ceiling. The entire space accommodates 180 seated guests or 220 for a cocktail-style event, while a chic private space in a former elevator shaft, known as the Patron Room, accommodates eight for private events.

La Padrona

Helmed by James Beard Award-winning chef Jody Adams, La Padrona brings authentic Italian dining to an impeccably designed, 8,000-square-foot space in the Raffles Boston. Accommodating 180 to 220 guests for a seated event, or 290 for a reception, La Padrona also has several private dining spaces. They include the 224-square-foot Harris Room, which accommodates 10 seated guests; the 1,300-square-foot first-floor lounge, which accommodates 50 guests for a reception; and the O’Donnell Room, a 440-square-foot space that accommodates 30 seated guests or 40 for a reception. There are TVs available in the Harris Room and the O’Donnell Room, each with the capability to allow for AirPlay to the TV from guests’ phones or electronic devices. That space can also be broken down into two smaller rooms. The second floor, measuring 3,500 square feet, can also be rented out for private events accommodating 180 seated guests or 240 for a reception. La Padrona opened in May.

Matria

Located at the InterContinental Boston, Matria is a Piedmont-inspired steakhouse that opened in late June. Accommodating as many as 76 guests inside for its Northern Italian steak cuts and home-made pasta dishes, Matria features a 2,700-square-foot terrace on the waterfront that accommodates an additional 68 seated guests. They can accommodate AV hookups for a separate fee. There are two additional new spaces at the InterContinental: Bar Fellini, a chic and self-assured cocktail bar adjacent to Matria, and The Loyall Counting Room, an intimate speakeasy with a Revolutionary War theme and curated cocktails.

Baleia

Tucked on the ground floor of The Troy Building at the intersection of The South End and South Boston, Baleia opened in March and is a 3400-square-foot restaurant serving a seafood-centric menu inspired by Portuguese cuisine. Featuring an open kitchen and a bright, airy dining room with sunny, yellow booths and banquettes, Baleia embraces the idea of a summer holiday on the Iberian Peninsula. Don’t miss its eclectic cocktail program and Portuguese wine list that spans every region of the country. Baleia offers semi-private dining for cocktail receptions or seated dinners for as many as 45 guests, or full restaurant buyouts for as many as 90.

Sogno at Sea

Head out on the water with the team from Sogno, the Italian fine dining restaurant in Woburn. A unique culinary yacht service created by the Martignetti Hospitality Group, Sogno at Sea offers private charters and ticketed hospitality experiences out of Boston Harbor aboard a luxurious 60-foot Azimut yacht. Accommodating 25 guests throughout 750 square feet for champagne brunches, pairings and tastings, and dinner and cocktail parties, Sogno at Sea features the classic Italian cuisine locals know and love.

Red Jacket Beach Resort

Following a $40-million renovation to three of its five mid-Cape hotels, Red Jacket Resorts are back in action after reopening in June. At Red Jacket Beach Resort, you’ll find over 7,500 square feet of beachfront spaces ideal for meetings and events, and amenities including on-site event coordinators, new beachfront event tents, technical support, and full AV capabilities. The 3,500-square-foot Driftwood Ballroom boasts stunning views of the Nantucket Sound and accommodates groups of as many as 200 people. There’s also the 2,000-square-foot Pavilion on the Sound, which hosts up to 200 guests and has an external tent capability to host 175 additional guests. Smaller events for sizes from 15 to 20 with up to 360 square feet of space are ideal in the Quahog Quarters or Plover’s Nest. In addition to Red Jacket Beach Resort, Blue Water Resort and Riviera Beach Resort are also part of the $40-million renovation.

The Beachside Hotel

The latest spot from Blue Flag Capital, The Beachside Hotel is a bright, welcoming venue celebrating a classic American summer. In addition to brand new rooms and suites, The Beachside in Nantucket welcomes guests to The Shed, an 840-square-foot signature indoor event or meeting space, accommodating 50 people in a window-lit space perfect for island life. It’s equipped with a built-in retractable screen with a projector, video conferencing capabilities, in-ceiling speakers, and the ability to connect your own music. The Beachside Hotel opened in July.

Le Mari

A Mediterranean-influenced concept located on Boston’s famed Newbury Street, Le Mari opened in June. Available for both full and partial buyouts, the 1,300-square-foot restaurant, which accommodates a total of 48 seated guests, features a dueling set of bars along the back of the restaurant that seats 18. The 30-seat dining room is anchored by a French mural that hangs along exposed brick. Le Mari also features two seasonal patios, with 22 additional seats. Equipped with a brand-new sound system and TV, Le Mari has full AV capabilities.

Sugar Factory

Fire up your sweet tooth at Faneuil Hall’s Sugar Factory, an 11,836-square-foot oasis spread out over two floors. Savor comfort food like burgers and quesadillas from the food list or check out the milkshake menu, an exercise in true decadence. The 576-square-foot upstairs main dining room accommodates 124 seated guests, while the 392-square-foot Pink Room, filled with cotton candy-colored wallpaper, floral detailings, heart candy prints and neon signage, is ideal for special events for as many as 50 guests. It also has a dedicated bar. There is an outdoor cafe accommodating 48 seated guests in a space adjacent to the greenhouse. Sugar Factory opened in December 2023.
