Lisa Lori and her staff at Lisa Lori Communications celebrated their first anniversary with a cocktail party at Thom's Bar, the recently-opened boite inside new boutique hotel 60 Thompson. The event also included a silent auction to benefit the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation, a nonprofit agency dedicated to education and research on Myasthenia Gravis, an autoimmune disease from which Lori herself suffers. The event was attended by approximately 100 of the company's clients and friends, and raised more than $4,000 for the foundation.
Located on the second floor of the hotel, Thom's Bar is a stylish little hotel bar with comfy seating arrangements indoors and a small outdoor patio decorated with bamboo shades and lots of Jonathan Adler-esque patterned pillows on wooden benches. Mojitos, sidecars and cosmopolitans were some of the featured drinks of the evening, accompanied by hors d'oeuvres (shiitake mushroom summer rolls in rice paper and roasted duck breast with black bean sauce wrapped in moo shu pancakes among them) catered by Thom, the hotel's in-house restaurant. Jee Ahn of Blumenbureau provided a variety of floral decor, including a striking arrangement of white delphinium surrounded by stalks of foxtail lily. The night's second most-popular woman next to Lori? Tarot card reader Sylvie Safrankova, who had a line of guests waiting patiently for their turns.
