Looking for a new venue to host your next event? Here are the most anticipated Las Vegas restaurants, corporate event venues, hotels, conference centers, and private and party rooms to open next year. These new and renovated Las Vegas venues can accommodate groups large or small for private and corporate events, conferences, meetings, weddings, business dinners, teambuilding activities, cocktail parties, and more.
1. A massive open-air concert venue, dubbed City of Rock, is slated to open in May for the inaugural Rock in Rio festival. The $20 million complex, built on 37 acres on Sahara Avenue near Circus Circus Las Vegas, will be customized for the festival with six stages and other amenities, but after the event it will retain elements such as bathrooms and wiring so the site can be used for events year-round. As built for the festival, the venue will hold 85,000 people. The project is a joint venture between the MGM Resorts, Yucaipa, and Cirque du Soleil.
2. Tropicana Las Vegas announced plans to complete construction in March to expand the Tropicana Pavilion and increase the resort’s total meeting and convention facilities to 100,000 square feet. The new 26,000-square-foot Tropicana Pavilion area will offer 11 separate breakout rooms, some with as high as 16-foot ceilings, and will have new private restrooms as well as new escalators. Once the addition is complete, the whole Tropicana Pavilion venue will provide 55,000 square feet of meeting space.
3. Hakkasan Group's newest nightclub concept, Omnia, will take over the former Pure Nightclub space at Caesars Palace when it opens in the spring. The multilevel venue will total 75,000 square feet and include a main room, mezzanine, and rooftop garden with views of the Strip. It will be available for buyouts.
4. Mr. Chow at Caesars Palace, the seventh location of the famed eatery, is scheduled to open in the spring. It takes over the space formerly occupied by Empress Court, and guests will enter the second-story space through private elevators.
5. Lago by Julian Serrano is slated to debut at Bellagio Resort & Casino in March in the space formerly occupied by Circo. The Italian restaurant is being designed by Munge Leung with details such as an entrance mosaic of an aerial map of Milan fashioned out of glass and measuring 15 feet tall and 100 feet wide. The space will include a main dining room, bar, and patio on Lake Bellagio. Floor-to-ceiling windows will have views of the resort's famed fountains.
6. Special event and entertainment facility group the Venues Group has broken ground in downtown Las Vegas. The Venue Las Vegas is slated to open in February with 36,000 square feet of versatile event and meeting space covering two stories and a rooftop patio, including six indoor and outdoor spaces for as many as 2,000 guests.
7. Chef Michael Mina plans to open Bardot Brasserie at Aria Resort & Casino on January 16. The French concept will serve decadent items such as a foie gras parfait, a croque-madame, fruits de mer seafood towers, an an oversize chocolate macaron.
8. Searsucker Las Vegas, the latest outpost of chef Brian Malarkey's upscale comfort food concept, will open in May at Caesars Palace. Designer Thomas Schoos is planning a retro Americana vibe for the 7,500-square-foot space with elements such as rope chandeliers that look like lassos, neon “Eat” signs, tumbleweed-shaped light fixtures, and rustic wood and marble tables.
9. Glutton restaurant is slated to debut downtown in January. The New American eatery from chef Bradley Manchester, located across from Downtown Container Park, will honor its name with indulgent dishes and desserts but will also offer lighter salads, vegetable dishes, and entrées made in a wood-burning oven. The restaurant will seat about 80 guests indoors and an additional 25 on a patio.
10. Wahlburgers—the fast casual burger restaurant founded by brothers Mark, Donnie, and Paul Wahlberg and the focus of A&E’s reality show of the same name—announced a three-restaurant franchise agreement with Vegas American Hospitality. Wahlburgers is slated to debut in Las Vegas in early 2015 with the opening of its first restaurant at a location soon to be announced. Two others are slated to follow over the next five years, all in high-traffic areas.
