Here's a closer look at Washington, D.C.'s newest eateries, drinking spots, hotels, conference areas, private rooms, and other spaces available for events this spring. The new and renovated Washington, D.C., venues are available for corporate parties, weddings, fundraisers, outdoor functions, business dinners, team-building activities, conferences, meetings, and more.

Union Market Hotel
Union Market Hotel
Union Market Hotel, located in one of the capital city’s most vibrant neighborhoods, traces its roots back to the '30s, when it housed the historic Bolgiano Seed Company. What was once a thriving seed factory has been completely transformed into a 106-room boutique hotel, situated in the heart of Union Market. Perched five stories up, the hotel's Treehouse Rooftop Lounge (pictured) is an indoor-outdoor Tulum-inspired space. It offers lush greenery, a state-of-the-art sound system, panoramic city views, cocktails, and internationally influenced small plates. Treehouse is available for private events. Other rentable spaces include a courtyard, the lobby, and the boardroom-style Bolgiano meeting room.

Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium
Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium
The Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium has been a destination for grand events since its opening in 1935. In October 2023, Ridgewells Catering took over management of the venue, after it closed for 18 months for a major renovation and restoration. These were the first comprehensive renovations in the venue's 85-year history. They include the repair, honing, and polishing of the marble wall panels; the cleaning, repair, and re-gilding of the Dutch metal ornamental finishes; the full replacement of the white oak strip flooring; and the restoration of the auditorium’s doors. The gilded auditorium with 65-foot ceilings can accommodate up to 1,000 guests. There's also the Center Green room, trimmed in gold, that can accommodate up to 225 guests. The East and West Green rooms can accommodate up to 50 and 72 guests, respectively.

Hilton Arlington National Landing
Hilton Arlington National Landing
In February, Hilton Arlington National Landing reopened after a nine-month, multimillion-dollar renovation that touched every part of the hotel. The transformation includes an overhaul of the now 393 guest rooms, plus a revamp of the lobby, meeting spaces, and lounge areas. The property is central to the area's emerging new tech center, National Landing, which is home to Amazon HQ2 and Virginia Tech’s forthcoming Innovation Campus. It is the first hotel to adopt the use of the National Landing moniker. The renovation also brought the addition of the National Landing Hub, a space for business travelers and groups to gather for personal conversations and virtual meetings. It features a 150-inch four-panel LED video wall and a 75-inch TV with wireless connectivity. The hotel is located minutes from Reagan National Airport and 5 miles from D.C.

Capital Hilton
Capital Hilton
In March, Capital Hilton completed a multimillion-dollar renovation of its 559 guest rooms. Layering art deco design with the hotel’s brutalist architecture, each new room aims to weave original design with the modern elements needed for today’s travelers. The property, located just two blocks from the White House, also offers two on-site dining concepts, digital key check-in, a business center, and more than 30,000 square feet of event space. Its largest space is the Presidential Ballroom, spanning 7,776 square feet and accommodating up to 900 attendees.

In April, Washington Marriott at Metro Center, situated in the center of downtown Washington, D.C., completed a multimillion-dollar renovation. The showpiece of the transformation? A new street-level restaurant named Spotted Zebra (pictured), offering "familiar yet elevated dishes" with themed names like Founding Fathers Farm Chicken and Swing State Salmon, plus a vibrant cocktail bar. The renovation also includes re-imagined guest rooms and suites, a new state-of-the-art fitness center with Peloton equipment and a refreshed indoor pool area, plus a revitalized lobby and hotel entrance. The property has also added an M Club for Marriott Bonvoy Elite and Club members.
