5 New Venues in Montreal for Summer 2021 Meetings and Events

Take a peek at these buzz-worthy restaurants, hotels, meeting and event spaces and more recently opened in Montreal.

Here's a closer look at Montreal’s newest eateries, drinking spots, hotels, conference areas, private rooms and other spaces available for events this summer. The new and renovated Montreal venues are available for corporate parties, weddings, fundraisers, outdoor functions, business dinners, team-building activities, conferences, meetings and more.

A note regarding COVID-19: Some of the venues listed here may not yet be available for hosting events due to COVID-19, or they may be operating at a lower capacity. As venues begin to slowly reopen across North America, we encourage event organizers to contact the venues to verify current capacity restrictions.

Montreal Marriott Château Champlain
Montreal Marriott Château Champlain
The Montreal Marriott Château Champlain, which originally opened in 1967, reopened in June following a full interior restoration led by Sid Lee Architecture. The revamp intends to preserve traditional Quebecois architecture built into the hotel while introducing contemporary design, local art, panoramic city views and decor invoking Montreal in all its seasons. This summer, the venue’s new restaurant and bar, Lloyd, will offer Nordic-inspired cuisine and signature happy hour-ready cocktails, while its Caf’Conc’ event space has been turned into a roaring '20s-themed reception hall and theater. In addition to the 8,530-square-foot Champlain ballroom, which fits as many as 1,000 guests, the hotel offers 34,905 total square feet of meeting space across 25 event rooms.

This reservation-only restaurant, located on the border of Quartier des Spectacles, opened for private bookings in June. Upon arrival, guests in parties of 8 to 12 guests—who have the venue to themselves for the evening—are invited to sample cocktails at a private bar, enjoy a meal of 11 courses in the dining room and relax with a digestif at the bar after dinner. The restaurant is run by Calgary-based chef Kaylee Fishman, known for her work at Le Club Chasse et Pêche, and Lauren Kastner, who’s managing the front of house. Preset menus available for each reservation will incorporate local and seasonal ingredients as well as staples in Quebecois and international cuisine. 1583 will also accommodate larger parties for standing events based on Quebec’s gathering restrictions.

Jardin Royalmount
Jardin Royalmount
Total Events owner Lorne Levitt and C3 Events founder and president Adam Bultz—the team behind Montreal’s Royalmount Drive-In Theatre—created this outdoor space to safely host hundreds of guests at large-scale gatherings. With 18,000 square feet of open-air gardens, an 8,000-square-foot covered pavilion, and a 3,000-square-foot outdoor grove, the venue opened to the public in July. With a variety of catering, bar service, furniture, decor, stage, audiovisual and entertainment options, the venue offers packages that can be tailored to various events including weddings, holiday parties and corporate award ceremonies. Jardin Royalment is also hosting numerous public events, including pop-up supper clubs, dinner and movie nights, and a live music presentation by ÎLESONIQ.

Espaces Bleu Lavende

Essential oil producer Bleu Lavande opened Quebec’s newest lavender farm an hour from Montreal, in Magog, this June. The farm offers booking for groups of 20 or more, which includes a guided tour, rotating seminars on lavender growing and artisanal craftsmanship, and boxed lunches. Visitor packages also offer access to a walking trail, a picnic area, a relaxation garden, a reservation-only massage area, a traveling snack and beverage bike, and a lavender product boutique. Bleu Lavande also collaborated with Montreal-based multimedia studio Moment Factory to create Champs Chromatiques—an immersive, audiovisual presentation that enables guests to experience the feel of the property’s lavender fields year-round.

Mellön
Mellön
Located in Rosemont-La-Petite-Patrie, Mellön, a 1,000-square-foot space that seats as many as 80 guests indoors, opened for takeout in May, and has since launched its street-side patio with room for 50 more guests. Craft beer fans Alexandre Pontbriand and David Goudreau drew inspiration from industrial neighborhood breweries that offer a welcoming, community-oriented look and feel. With a broad selection of IPAs and lagers already available, Pontbriand and Goudreau plan to continue to enrich the menu with a diverse range of seasonal beverages each week, as well as monthly specials. The venue also hosted a pop-up by Pizza Michigan, which served signature Detroit-style menus during a Montreal Canadians game.
