Here's a closer look at Montreal's newest eateries, drinking spots, hotels, conference areas, private rooms, and other spaces available for events this summer. The new and renovated Montreal venues are available for corporate parties, weddings, fundraisers, outdoor functions, business dinners, team-building activities, conferences, meetings, and more.

Hyatt Place Downtown Montreal

Hyatt Place Downtown Montreal is the brand's newest property, which opened its doors just outside Quartier des Spectacles and the Saint Catherine Street village in June. The $25 million dollar venue redevelopment, which began in 2019, encompasses sleek and modern yet relaxed interior design sure to welcome business and leisure travelers alike. The hotel also offers 24/7 dining to accommodate guests on the go and is located right on the subway line for easy access to many of Montreal’s largest convention centers and attractions. With 354 guest rooms, the Hyatt Place Downtown Montreal offers 10 multipurpose meeting areas across 6,000 square feet of total event space. The largest room is 2,400 square feet, and rooms are set up to accommodate virtual and hybrid gatherings.

Pubjelly

Located just south of Old Port of Montreal, Pubjelly is a seafood-focused dining spot from Peak Hospitality Management that opened in February with a casual, low-lit atmosphere ideal for relaxed evening snacks, wine, and cocktails. The concept was co-developed by chef Mathieu Masson-Duceppe and Francis Rodrigue, the restaurateur behind the establishments Jellyfish—which is referred to as Pubjelly's "older brother"—Madame Thai, Giulietta, and Magia. The summer menu features a variety of cooked and raw East Coast-based oysters, as well as a wide range of vegetable and seafood appetizers, and fresh baked creations served right from the pizza oven. The space offers seated capacity for 70 people.

Le Centre Sheraton Montreal Hotel

This central downtown Montreal hotel was one of three Sheraton properties in Canada to reopen post-renovations this spring. Dubbed a “sophisticated urban oasis,” Le Centre Sheraton Montreal offers 825 reimagined, brightly lit rooms with a residential feel, featuring height-adjustable tables to support guests who are working remotely. The Sheraton Club lounge and restaurant debuted a revamped look complemented by a sweeping city view from the hotel’s 37th floor. With space for receptions of up to 1,835 people in its Salle de Bal, Le Centre Sheraton Montreal Hotel offers 41,816 square feet of total event space, 23 event rooms, and 29 breakout rooms—with various AV, business, catering, and event supply services to choose from.

Esplanade Tranquille

The long-awaited Esplanade Tranquille in Quartier des Spectacles opened for ice skating this past winter—and will host a series of outdoor concerts and seasonal cultural activities throughout the summer. Public indoor spaces within the multipurpose pavilion include Le Repaire, which features modular furniture and tables for working; and Le Grand Salon (pictured) is a cozy lounge for meetings, complete with a cafe and a central fireplace that runs throughout the colder months. Plus Esplanade Tranquille offers two private event spaces available for year-round bookings: Le Réfectoire, which has room for 80 standing or 60 seated guests and is well-suited for small- to mid-sized social or corporate occasions; and L’Arrière-scène, which can hold 115 people and can be configured as a workspace for various types of group activities.

Le Saint Motel

Branded as “Montreal’s selfie studio," Le Saint Motel is a riverside, 2,500-square-foot venue. The space invites guests to walk through a secret entrance and experience 13 themed rooms curated for guests to take the perfect selfie of themselves and their friends. Designed to feel like a vintage motel, Le Saint Motel is designed with old-fashioned neon signage, palm trees, room keys, and telephones. And each studio's theme rotates on a seasonal basis and over the past year, included an Expo 67, goth versus princess, and occult room. Private events (think: bachelorette and birthday parties) can be booked from two hours to a full day for 15-20 guests. The venue also rents out the decor used in its rooms and welcomes requests for custom decor concepts for events.

Guerlain Spa

The Four Seasons Hotel Montreal partnered with LVMH Group’s Guerlain brand to open Guerlain Spa in May. Located on the lower floor of the hotel, the spa is designed to provide an escape from the pace of the city, with a soft, tranquility-focused decor and ambiance applied across eight treatment rooms—including one couple’s suite. Visitors can indulge in custom spa experiences, including "Energy and Glow in Montreal" for energy rejuvenation, as well as "The Power of Montreal," which is specially designed for athletes, not to mention a range of body, facial, and massage treatments provided by global specialists. Guests are encouraged to contact the location directly to organize personalized spa experiences.

La Conceria

La Conceria is a vegan osteria restaurant and wine bar that opened to the public in May outside the Saint Henri neighborhood. The interior is bright-white, colorful, and mirror-lit interior, and the menu focuses on traditional Italian flare courtesy of executive chef Felix Gagnon. He offers a wide range of plant-based dishes, including meatless meatballs, tofu-based ravioli, quinoa and squash gnocchi, and coconut mascarpone tiramisu. La Conceria’s wine list features more than 50 sparkling, red, white, and rose labels to pair with dinner—in addition to seasonal cocktail options also available at the main bar. The venue can accommodate up to 85 guests indoors, as well as another 38 on the patio, and offers special catering menus for private events.

Espace Pour La Vie Insectarium

After nearly three years, the Insectarium, located within Espace Pour La Vie, reopened to the public in April. The renovation project was developed to lead the exhibition space through an architectural transformation that enables visitors to experience hundreds of insect species with a whole new degree of interactivity. The reimagined Insectarium features an underground gallery inspired by insect habitats, a dome featuring over 3,000 naturalized specimens, and a vivarium with hundreds of free or partly confined insects under one roof. Beyond the numerous private event booking options currently available through its Biodôme, Biosphère, Jardin Botanique, and Planétarium locations, Espace Pour La Vie is currently developing options for guests to visit parts of the Insectarium during events.
