This week's roundup includes gold leaf-covered basketballs at the N.B.A. Crossover experience in Vancouver; a Fantasy Island house replica at the premiere of HBO's My Dinner With Hervé in Los Angeles; a coffin photo booth at the Nightmare Machine in New York; and an Audi-branded four-story boat for the e-Tron launch in San Francisco.

The premiere of the HBO film My Dinner With Hervé, which covers the life of actor Hervé Villechaize, took place October 4 at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles. The event, which was designed by Billy Butchkavitz Design, featured a step-and-repeat inspired by Villechaize’s first career as a painter in France. The title of the film is displayed in portraits of various paintings against a green wall.

The main party space was designed to recreate the Fantasy Island set, which is a big focus of the film. Agile Eye Solutions provided a Fantasy Island house replica.

In conjunction with New York Comic Con, which took place October 2 to 4, E! promoted the People’s Choice Awards with a food truck that traveled to various locations in the city. Passersby were invited to place their votes for the E! People’s Choice Awards category and could then receive a free, food item representing their choice. The truck, which served items such as donuts with customized M&Ms, will travel to Austin October 12 and 13 and Los Angeles October 18 and 19.

Ahead of the sixth N.B.A. Canada Series, the N.B.A. brought its traveling cultural exhibition to the Permanent in Vancouver September 28 to 29 and to Apt. 200 in Montreal October 6 to 7. The exhibition, which highlighted the intersection of basketball and culture through history, fashion, art, and gaming, featured a basketball-inspired Foot Locker gallery that included a locked vault with merchandise. Attendees were eligible to unlock and win the merchandise in the vault. The N.B.A. produced the exhibition in partnership with creative agency Victory.

Basketballs covered in 24-carat gold leaf were displayed in a pyramid in the venue’s bank vault.

For the global launch of the 2019 Audi e-Tron, the brand’s first all-electric-drive model, Russell Harris Event Group transformed a four-story Louisiana-style casino boat into an atmosphere inspired by a luxury yacht in September. The boat hosted 1,600 guests for a two-hour cruise from Embarcadero Pier 3 in San Francisco to the Craneway Pavilion in Richmond, California. Audi branding and florals such as calla lilies, tulips, and orchids were displayed throughout the boat.

Glassware brand Saint-Louis Crystal celebrated the launch of Manhattan, its crystal cocktail collection inspired by New York, on September 27 at the home of event designer Bronson van Wyck. The event featured a game of crystal pong, a luxurious take on the college-favorite game beer pong that invited guests to sink Saint-Louis ping pong balls into one of the brand’s signature glasses.

A sequel to the immersive Dream Machine pop-up, the nightmare-inspired experience is open in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, through October 31. Helmed by founder Paige Solomon, the experience features nine rooms, including a “millennial graveyard,” which has tombstones dedicated to of-the-moment references such as the L train (which will soon be shut down) and the short-lived viral sensation "Laurel and Yanny."

While the Dream Machine's ball pit was designed to mimic breathing underwater, the Nightmare Machine's version is like swimming in hell.

Upon entering, guests have the chance to pose for selfies in an upright, well-lit coffin.
