In May 2010, the financial district will get a new JW Marriott Hotel. The property will overtake a Daniel-Burnham-designed bank building, which is currently in the midst of a $369 million restoration.

When complete, the hotel is slated to include 609 guest rooms, 29 suites, and a 20,000-square-foot spa. The property will also feature some 44,000 square feet of meeting and event space, which will include an 8,300-square-foot grand ballroom and a 5,900-square-foot junior ballroom.

On Wednesday, the venue announced that the Radiological Society of North America has signed the hotel's first group contract. Reps from the organization have already reserved a block of rooms for November 20 to December 4—the dates of the 2010 annual meeting (No. 6 on our 2008 list of top conferences).

Correction: The name of the Radiological Society of North America has been corrected.
