If you’re looking for a dynamic way to show off a new product, Dreamoc can turn any item into a free-floating three-dimensional projection. RealFiction, a Danish firm specializing in video and 3-D animation, launched Dreamoc in North America earlier this year. RealFiction produces the video and graphics (which can be based on an actual product or a concept) using a liquid crystal display (LCD) mounted on a black pedestal that can be plugged into a wall. The result: lifelike 3-D animation—anything from wine being poured into a glass to a waterproof camera caught in a rainstorm to a moving corporate logo. And because the video is produced with an LCD instead of traditional projection, it can run as long as 40,000 hours. Pricing ranges from $4,000 to $6,000.
