This week's roundup includes a $250 cocktail that came with a special perk, a movie screening under a giant whale in New York, decor made of paint cans in New Orleans, and giant bubbles as photo booth props in Los Angeles.

At the Make It Right gala in New Orleans, held May 17 at the Sugar Mill, event designer David Stark created decor from construction materials that later were donated to the organization's efforts to build homes in the city's Lower Ninth Ward and in other communities across the country. For the small stage backdrop, 1,200 paint cans were arranged to spell out the word "give."

Virgin Atlantic hosted a celebration of summer Fridays at Refinery Rooftop in New York on August 7. The menu featured a $250 cocktail called, naturally, “the Summer Friday,” and its hefty price tag came with a perk. The first two guests to purchase the cocktail got a trip for two to London, courtesy of the airline.

For the August 4 premiere of James Cameron's Deepsea Challenge 3D documentary at the American Museum of Natural History, Tyger Productions, at the behest of event sponsor (and long-time client) Rolex, treated guests to a unique 3-D cinematic experience. The event took up about 9,000 square feet of space in the Milstein Hall of Ocean Life, under the iconic 94-foot blue whale.

To allow guests the most comfortable experience possible—and anchor the room—a central theater seating area was built for the premiere. Populating it were 175 plush microsuede armchairs, each accessorized with a pair of 3-D glasses.

Resting on sawhorses, the banquet tables were made from materials that will become kitchen counters.

Puma hosted a tournament in collaboration with English soccer club Arsenal at New York's Grand Central Terminal on July 25. A 30-foot canon replica was a nod to a symbol in Arsenal's crest, as well as to its history. The team was founded in 1886 by workers at an armaments factory and is sometimes referred to as "the Gunners."

An eclectic mix of bright furniture and framed logos evoked a sophisticated yet playful art studio feel at Fox's V.I.P. tent for the Teen Choice Awards, held in Los Angeles on August 10.

Interactive stations at the Teen Choice Celebrity Gifting Suite gave guests the opportunity to play with products like the Wubble Bubble Ball or pose for photos at PETA2's table.

For its August 5 event celebrating the recent launch of its Sur.face Pro makeup palette, beauty brand Beautyblender presented guests with sketched portraits of invitees holding the brand’s palette or signature cosmetics sponge. Organizers tapped a Stuk Designs artist to create the drawings based on photos from guests’ social media streams.

To introduce its new GLA model, Mercedes-Benz kicked off the "Evolution Tour" on July 24 at Terminal 5 in New York. Guests could choose one of four branded Mercedes graphics, which were created exclusively by street artist Mr. Brainwash, for T-shirts and tanks.
