On Thursday afternoon, models sported styles that seemed plucked out of paintings at the "Impressionism, Fashion, and Modernity" show at the Shops at North Bridge.
Named after the upcoming exhibition at the Art Institute of Chicago, the show's M.C.s included local fashion icon Nena Ivon and museum curator Gloria Groom. As male and female models showcased dresses, suits, and a water-lily-adorned umbrella, fellow models held images of the Impressionist paintings that inspired each look.
The cross promotion—part of In-Fashion: The Magnificent Mile Shopping Festival—had a French theme replete with accordion music, pastries, and sparkling wine. Guests at the ticketed affair each received a complimentary pass to the museum.
