Begun as a sales-boosting idea for New York retailers, Fashion's Night Out has since spread to other U.S. cities (and other countries). This year, the initiative devised by Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, and NYC & Company grew into fully fledged, multi-event celebrations in more than 20 states, including California, Florida, Nevada, and Illinois. From a Ferris wheel on Rodeo Drive to a boccie contest at Miami Beach's Bal Harbour Shops, floral tabletop design demos at Neiman Marcus in Chicago to a Cirque du Soleil performance on the streets of Georgetown in Washington, here's a look at some of the biggest and most interesting events that took place outside New York on Friday.

The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis' kickoff for its Great Sports Legends Dinner coincided with Fashion's Night Out this year. The nonprofit organization closed down the Bal Harbour Shops in Miami for a 500-person event. The biggest component was the three boccie ball courts produced by Barton G., where guests could play for free or pay $10 to compete to win prizes from Tiffany & Company.
