1. Hoyt's, a modern American tavern, opened inside Hotel 71 in March. Able to host breakfast or lunch meetings, as well as private dinners and cocktail receptions, the restaurant serves down-home comfort food with a twist. Menu items include Reuben sandwiches stuffed with spiced lamb leg and Vosges chocolate pudding served in a mason jar. An 1,100-square-foot private dining room can hold 35 to 45 in a classroom-style setup, 80 guests at round tables, and in a 100 theater-style setting. A patio with river views seats 60.
2. South Branch Tavern and Grille opened in March. With an illuminated wine wall, the private dining room can seat 20. The entire space can seat 250, and a patio provides seating for an additional 175. The menu offers casual fare such as patty melt burgers, Baja fish tacos, and baked cookie dough with vanilla ice cream.
