Fort Lauderdale Boat Show Returns

The Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, billed as the largest boat show in the world, kicked off it's 49th year yesterday. The show will occupy six sites - including the Greater Fort Lauderdale/ Broward County Convention Center, the Fort Lauderdale Grand Hotel & Yacht Club, and the Las Olas Marina - throughout its four days in coastal Fort Lauderdale, all featuring different attractions relating to electronics, engines, or the vessels themselves.

The annual boating event, showcasing an estimated $3 billion worth of marine transport hardware, began with an international news conference and press breakfast Thursday morning at the Bahia Mar Yachting Center. Following that, the private 11th annual Bremen Brothers Beach Bash will be held tonight at the Hugh Taylor Birch State Park.

The Fort Lauderdale Boat Show is presented this year by Ginn sur Mer, a luxury community located at the West End of Grand Bahama Island. Check back next week for additional coverage of the show, which wraps up on November 3.
