For those seeking to break away from the mundane and sample something outrageous at the close of 2007, Michael's Genuine Food and Drink offered just that. Guests arrived to find the restaurant's courtyard transformed into an outrageous "Under the Big Top" circus event with exceptional spectacles.
The event was hosted by Gilbert Stafford with Miami drag queen, Adora, presiding as mistress of ceremonies. Panache: A Classic Party Rentals Company set up tables for late dining topped with New Year's souvenirs including confetti poppers, glittered hats and tiaras, and more, surrounded by an overwhelming amount of balloons. Just beyond the tables, the tent was outfitted with white cocktail tables, a full bar, and lots of party decor.Bright circus colors were all around, from the light displays that dazzled the tent ceiling to the confetti covering the ground. A chandelier composed of oversize champagne glasses, complete with rising bubbles, created an eye-catching suspended centerpiece. Throughout the party, guest were served their choice of hors d'oeuvres and cocktails, including spanakopita and Sophia Coppola's canned champagne, Sofia Blanc de Blancs.
For all-night entertainment, SRX Events recruited fire dancer and hula-hoop artist Marti Abrams and sword swallowers from Jose Ramirez and the Elements of Sirprize. Additionally, a host of drag queens wandered throughout the crowd socializing with attendees and dancing to the upbeat tunes provided by Quest Music Inc.
