Last spring, chef and restaurant proprietor Jonathan Eismann moved his acclaimed pan-Asian eatery Pacific Time from its Lincoln Road location in South Beach to the burgeoning Miami design district. Continuing to add to the area’s diverse restaurant portfolio, Eismann opened casual Italian outlet Pizza Volante in June.
Polished concrete floors, exposed ducts, floor-to-ceiling windows, a stainless steel pizza counter, a wood-burning oven, and bright orange accents adorn the 900-square-foot restaurant. The main seating area is comprised of 10 white marble tables arranged in three communal groups seating 35 people. Ten additional stools are available at the counters.
The menu offers up thin-crust, Roman-style pizza as well as a variety of pastas, mozzarella-centered dishes, and daily specials like organic chicken caccitore. Additionally, Pizza Volante stocks 18 wines for less than $18 a bottle and $1 Budweisers daily.
Buyouts are available, and parties larger than 75 may utilize Pacific Time’s 1,600-square-foot garden.
