Having opened in time for Art Basel, Goldman Propertiesβ new 5,000-square-foot eatery in Wynwood blends brasserie-style cuisine and urban street art. Jessica Goldman Srebnick and her father, Tony Goldman, tapped chef Marco Ferraroβwho also helms their South Beach restaurant Wishβto oversee the Wynwood Kitchen & Bar menu. It offers items such as small plates (crispy artichoke hearts, seafood ceviche); six types of burgers; pork, lamb, and vegetable swekers; a variety of sausages; and sandwiches and salads, as well as entrees ranging in price from $14 to $29 (ribs, snapper, and steak, among other options).
Some important names in the contemporary art scene contributed original works to the space, which has areas that can be used for events. An 11-foot colorful sculpture of a man by David Benjamin Sherry stands at the entrance to the 1,300-square-foot interior dining room, which can hold 106 people and features 20-foot canvases by German abstract artist Christian Awe. Artist Shepard Fairey created a floor-to-ceiling mural in his trademark black, red, and gold palette for the 1,000-square-foot, 14-seat bar area, which can accommodate as many as 32.
The restaurant carries 40 types of international craft beers as well as 20 wines by the glass and 70 vintages ranging from $22 to $35. Single malts, scotch whiskies, vodkas, and cocktails named after the different featured artists are also available. The 1,200-square-foot exterior is swathed in murals by the likes of twin Brazilian artists Os Gemeos and faces the Goldmansβ art park Wynwood Walls, which features an additional 15 murals by international artists. The patio area can hold as many as 64 guests.
